How difficult is it for a bassist to play guitar?

I do not want or expect to be a wicked ass single player like Herman Li or anything. Only I want to be able to play a little crunchy rhythm guitar. Is it too difficult for a bassist to play rhythm guitar in the style of music?

It is not difficult. But the guitar has a lot more string space. Be prepared.
