How To Learn To Play Guitar
how to learn to play guitar?
after beating every guitar related video game on expert i’ve decided that it’s time to put my interest in music to good use instead of waisting my time playing a plastic “instrument”. i know that just because i’m good at guitar hero doesn’t mean i’ll be good at the actual guitar but i figure that if i had been learing to play guitar in the time that i’ve played guitar hero then i could be decent at it. i’ve been playing the saxophone for seven years now so i know the universal fundamentals of music. how can i learn to play guitar without attending lessons or having to go through the boring painful lessons on what an f# is and how many beats an eighth note is. would learing out of a book help at all or would i be set if i just learned the note placement on the strings and fret board and went from there?? thanks for any help or suggestions.
you could probably find a teacher that would give you no bs lessons and just teach you what you need to know on guitar (scale shapes/positions on the fretboard etc) and some techniques unique to guitar that you will want to know. ive never taken lessons, learned 90% of what I know from youtube or websites or friends, but mostly just sitting and figuring it out myself.
