How To Play Guitar For Beginners – 8 Important Tips and Lessons For Beginner Guitarists

JamGuitar.Net – Hey everybody looking for a great way to learn guitar? These 8 important tips are just a few of the really important ones that have really helped me get better at guitar over the years. Keep them in mind and you’ll progress much faster! http – And if you’re looking for a program that will take care of everything you need to learn guitar, you should check out the link above. I’ve seen lots of programs but this is the only one I’ve used a lot to learn, and it works great and keeps you interested in playing. This is a commercial guide and it costs a bit of money. I’m involved with the company, too, just to let you know and the above is an affiliate link. But that doesn’t change my opinion about it – it is the only thing I’ve ever used to play guitar. Other than that, remember to practice correctly and practice often! Good luck, and take care! Hope you enjoyed the video!

thanks bro! Wrote down your tips. I’m 17 and heading to university next year. I guess it’s never too late to start :)

I’ve had a basic acoustic for a while now, but have not been practicing with it consistantly, so my fingers haven’t callused. I’ve already learned and memories quite a few chords and some finger picking, but I am definately going to check out that website you suggested. Thanks for posting such an informative video!

you just motivated me to learn guitar

@cmqd Hah don’t worry about it – my point was that no matter how old you are or how daunting it seems to start something so new, it doesn’t matter – all that matters is that you learn the correct methods and practice them a lot.

Lol at you saying you learning late at 18, im 20, i feel old to learn this now :[

@flyers821 I am actually a sophomore biochemist myself. I will certainly look up that book, thanks for the suggestion.

flyers821July 29th, 2011 at 7:23 pm

@MrPbnevets Levitan is a rock musician as well as a neuroscientist. I’m actually only half way through it right now but it’s a sweet read so far.

flyers821July 29th, 2011 at 7:27 pm

@MrPbnevets No problem, glad you enjoyed it. I feel that knowing some of the the actual mechanics of how people learn makes it much easier to learn for myself so I decided to include them (plus it generally interests me a lot because I studied biochemistry at uni). Apart from the guide I mention in the video (which actually teaches you guitar) another book I’d recommend is about music and the mind and is called This Is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession by Daniel J. Levitan.

Great video. Your explanations as too why to do these things really made it. Very well spoken and well done, thank you.
